Bio

My areas of interest include adult learning principles and facilitation of learning strategies. Currently, my focus includes the design of programs and curricula (online and live) to build teaching skills for trainees and faculty who teach in a variety of settings. I provide one on one coaching for individual faculty to enhance teaching skills. I direct or co-direct several programs to build teaching skills and promote scholarly educators that have institutional and national impact. My primary teaching roles include teaching medical students communication and physical exam skills and clinical reasoning and facilitating mastery teaching skills among faculty. My research interests include medical student advising and mentoring, clinical skills training, faculty development in teaching skills and women in academic medicine.

When I am not at work, I enjoy being with my family sailing on the Chesapeake Bay or hiking. I also enjoy traveling, cooking, reading, gardening and spending time with friends.
