Social Worker, Palliative Care

Bio

After completing my undergraduate degree at University of Illinois Chicago I moved with my husband to New Zealand for a year. While I was there I had the privilege of time to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I volunteered for a local hospice where I helped facilitate their day respite program. Families could drop off their loved ones for an afternoon of games, lunch, and socialization. I fell in love with the connections I made with each of the patients and fulfillment in the comfort I was able to provide to people at end of life.  This experience led me to complete my masters in Social Work at University of Maryland, Baltimore. As a Social Worker I was able to focus my career in oncology at JHH, Weinberg for seven years before taking the step to join the palliative team here at Bayview. I feel so lucky to be a part of such an amazing team here at Bayview and it gives me great joy to collaborate daily with people who a share incredible talent and passion for the community we serve.   Social Work / We Care for You

Some fun facts about me…I married my childhood sweetheart, Ryan. I have two of the cutest and most cuddly cats in the world. I am always reading and love hanging out with my book club-a group of rambunctious and strong women! I also love travelling and overnight hiking. My greatest fears are big bears and sharks…and mountain lions.
